A brief summary of Div.-V activities over last 2 years

  Following is a listing of Div.-V activities over last 2 years. Although they are categorized to each WG, many of them have been done in cooperation among the WGs. Details and additional activities will be reported at each WG meeting.

WG V-OBS
1.  XIth IAGA Workshop on Geomagnetic Observatory Instruments, Data Acquisition and Processing (November 9-17, 2004)
2.  Activities related to Intermagnet
Participation in the November 2004 INTERMAGNET meeting in Tokyo 
- 5 new IMOs accepted
3.  Preparation of IAGA Guides for compass calibration and compass swing bases
4.  workshops on European repeat station measurements (in cooperation with WG V-MOD) in 2003 in Niemegk and in 2005 in Warsaw

WG V-DAT
1.  Activities related to IAGA Indices: 
(Kp,Ap,Cp,QD, AE,Dst,QL-Dst,QL-AE, am, aa, PC...)
2.  Conversion to digital image files of old analogue magnetograms
3.  Preparation of IAGA guide on indices
4.  Discussion on IGRF & magnetosphere model standards (ISO proposal)

WG V-MOD
1. Finalised and disseminated 9th generation IGRF
2. 10th generation IGRF - solicited candidate models, evaluated them, derived and desseminated final model
3. Responded to queries concerning the IGRF
4. Earth, Planets and Space special issue on global magnetic field modeling and IGRF
5. Contributions to the Swarm satellite E2E simulator project by many individuals which led to ESA agreeing to fund the mission
6. 2nd European repeat station workshop held in April 2005 in Warsaw
7. Preliminary world digital magnetic anomaly maps produced
